Fireflow R1 - The Mini Review & Photos ...

This small webpage is designed to give a mini review of the much anticipated Mathmos Fireflow R1 product that will hit mainstream very soon. Mathmos R1 is the first candle powered lava lampby Mathmos.

Fireflow R1 is the first of the two new Fireflow designs to be released from Mathmos and is expected to hit the mainstream in September 2009. It also marks a whole new facet for lava lamps for Mathmos and is part of a flurry of new updates along the whole of Mathmos' lava range.

Mathmos in September 2009, released two new colours that were added to the Astro, Astrobaby, Telstar range, Clear/ Pink and Clear/Violet. These two beautiful colours were added to the ever popular lamp styles that Mathmos produces.

Mathmos also refreshed Astrobaby with an option for white caps and bases, which give it a very fresh modern, sleek art look. This particular cap and base colour looks great with the new fresher colours added to the lineup but will also look great with the legacy colours such as violet/orange.

Fireflow R1 is Mathmos' first Lava Lamp that is powered without the need for any electrics as it is powered by a simple humble tealight, that cleverly is placed into the base.

One tealight is all that is needed to activate the mesmerising lava liquids which have mesmerised people for 46 years so far. It is also Europe's first candle powered lava lamp and Mathmos' first new design for lava lamps in many years.

Fireflow R1 is a candle powered mini rocket that is so simple to assemble and starts up quickly. In fact next to the Telstar, Fireflow looks tiny.

Fireflow also has a larger sister product, Fireflow O1, which will hit mainstream, after R1. The beauty of Fireflow is that it can placed just about anywhere and is truly cordless.

Fireflow is priced quite cleverly, being Mathmos' most inexpensive lava lamp to date, however the quality of the metal work is second no other lamp. In fact it is of the same high quality as the Telstar and the Lunar. Please see the photos below for more information.

Below: Mathmos in 2009, released two new colours that were added to the Astro, Astrobaby, Telstar range, Clear/ Pink and Clear/Violet. These two beautiful colours were added to the ever popular lamp styles that Mathmos produces. Below one can see the Clear/ Violet Fireflow flowing perfectly.

Below: Fireflow is comprised from 4 simple parts: Cap, Bottle, Holding Ring and Base.

The cap is placed onto the bottle. The holding ring is placed into the base and the bottle is then placed onto the base. This ring is vital to hold the bottle in place. Simply light a tealight and the flow will begin in around 20 minutes.

Below: Fireflow's heavy cast polished base and cap make the product extremely stable, add a sense of genuine quality to the product and continue Mathmos' legacy of producing high quality products.

Fireflow features small beautiful glass bottles filled with the same lava liquids that you know and love in your previous lamps. As the product is rather small it is packaged into small boxes that contain 2 boxes. One is used for the metal parts and the other for the bottle.

Once again Mathmos have shown the world that the original manufacturer of the Lava Lamp is the only company who produce the world's best Lava Lamps and continues to provide fresh kinetic lighting for the home. Thanks for watching this review and viewing www.flowoflava.com.
